Description:
This webinar provides an overview of the National Certification process offered through School Social Work Association of America (SSWAA) highlighting its purpose, benefits, and professional impact. Participants will gain a clear understanding of eligibility requirements, application components, and key steps in the process.
Learning Objectives:
1) Participants will be able to explain the purpose, benefits, and eligibility requirements of the National Certification process for school social workers.
2) Participants will be able to identify and navigate the key steps of the certification process, including application components, documentation, timelines, and common pitfalls.
3) Participants will be able to apply practical strategies to prepare for certification, including aligning professional experience with standards and accessing relevant supports and resources.
Event Details:
Credits: 1 CEH for completion (Continuing Education Hours have been applied for through NASW WI)

About the Presenter:
Katherine Konle has practiced school social work for 15+ years. She has worked across all age levels and currently works at the elementary level in the Oconomowoc Area School District. Katherine earned both her undergraduate and master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Katherine completed the National Certification process in March of 2023 and served as a rater through SSWAA from May, 2023 through March, 2025.
Dani Robb has been a school social worker for 19 years supporting students, families, and school communities. Dani earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater and a graduate degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Dani obtained her National Certification during the summer of 2025.
Instructions for Online Registration
- When you are ready to register, click the red “REGISTER NOW” button. Enter your contact information.
- Choose your registration type. Members must be logged in to access the member rate. Non-members, click “Continue As Guest” to access registration types.
- Enter any accommodations needed.
- Click “ADD.”
- If you are only registering one individual, scroll down and click “Continue.” If you are registering multiple individuals, click “ADD” on a new ticket and register the next individual. Repeat for all registrations.
- Review your registration details. If everything is correct, click “CONTINUE.”
- Follow the prompt to select your payment option.
- To pay by personal credit card, enter credit card and billing details as instructed.
- To pay by school/organization check or credit card, select “BYPASS PAYMENT.” A receipt will be sent to you, which can be forwarded to your payee. There is a link at the bottom of the receipt that says “Click here to pay” to allow for credit card payments. You will need to forward this email to your business services office for processing and payment.
- To pay by check, select “BYPASS PAYMENT.” A receipt will be sent to you, which can be forwarded to your payee. Checks should be made out to “WSSWA” and sent to: WSSWA - P.O. Box 661, Hartland, WI 53029
